Chronological Age Calculator (Y;M;D)

This chronological age calculator is built for a specific job: computing someone's exact age as of an arbitrary reference date, not as of today. That distinction matters in speech therapy, school psychology and other assessment settings, where a report needs the child's exact age on the day a test was administered — which is often weeks or months in the past, and occasionally a date being scheduled in the future.

This is different from this site's general age calculator, which always measures age against today's date and shows a casual result like "you are 34". Use that tool for a quick personal age or a birthday countdown; use this one whenever the reference point is a specific test, evaluation or document date rather than today.

The result uses the clinical Y;M;D notation printed on real assessment forms — for example 8;3;14, meaning 8 years, 3 months and 14 days — alongside a plain-language version of the same number. Both come from the standard "borrow" method: if the test date's day of the month is smaller than the birth date's day, one month is borrowed (its full day count is added before subtracting); if the resulting month is then smaller than the birth month, one year is borrowed the same way. No rounding happens anywhere in the calculation.
