A women's dress can be a US 8, a UK 12, a German 38, an Italian 44 and a French 40 — all at the same time, all for the same body. Clothing sizes never got a worldwide standard: the EU relies on EN 13402 body dimensions, Italy and France kept their own offset numberings, the US and UK use different numbers for the same garment, and half the industry just prints S, M or L. This converter puts those scales side by side: pick a chart, pick the source and target regions, choose a size, and read the equivalent — plus the entire row across every scale.

Four charts cover the most common conversions: women's dresses and tops, men's dress shirts by collar size (inches versus centimetres), men's suits and jackets by chest, and trousers by waist, where US inches meet EU nominal sizes and Japanese centimetres. The size picker only ever offers sizes that actually exist in the selected chart and region, so there is nothing to mistype.

The honest part: size labels describe bodies, not garments. Brands add their own ease, vanity sizing shifts US numbers over time, and two 'M' shirts from different makers can differ by a full size. The converter states this under every result — use the chart row as your starting point and check the brand's own measurements table for anything fitted.
