About this tool
This page opens the metronome already set to 180 BPM — the Presto range. A racing tempo — fast metal, bebop and top-speed technique building. Press start, set the beats per bar and play along.
Practicing with a click builds your inner pulse. A classic method: play the passage a notch slower than comfortable until it is clean, then raise the tempo in small steps — that is exactly what the presets on the related pages are for.

Example. A tempo of 120 BPM schedules a click every 500 milliseconds, because the interval is 60000 divided by the BPM, and the status line reads 120 BPM.
Limit. Typed tempos and tap-tempo results are both rounded and clamped to the closed range 30 to 240 BPM. The beat timer is window.setInterval, so a background tab can slow it down.
