In numerology a name is read as a set of numbers: every letter has a value from 1 to 9, and the sums of those values describe different sides of a person. The expression (destiny) number uses all letters, the soul urge number only the vowels, and the personality number only the consonants.
This calculator supports both the Latin alphabet — with the classic Pythagorean table where A=1 through I=9 and the cycle repeats — and the Ukrainian and Russian Cyrillic alphabets with the same ordinal rule, which yields the tables traditionally used for Cyrillic name numerology.
Enter a full name or any single name, and the tool maps each letter, splits vowels from consonants, adds the values and reduces every total to a single digit while preserving the master numbers 11 and 22. The letter-by-letter trace is shown alongside the result.
