Unix time counts elapsed seconds from 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z and is common in APIs, databases, logs, and authentication tokens. Human-readable local dates need a time zone, while the timestamp itself represents one universal instant.
Enter a local date and choose its time zone to generate Unix seconds, Unix milliseconds, and an ISO 8601 value. Editing the timestamp performs the reverse conversion.
The decoder automatically treats ordinary-sized values as seconds and larger values as milliseconds, which avoids the most common thousand-fold conversion mistake.
