Chicken Wings Air Fryer Settings

Convert oven temperature and time to air fryer settings (or back), using the standard −25°F/−15°C, 20-25% less time rule of thumb, plus a lookup table for common foods.

Both the converter and the food table are a widely-used rule of thumb, not exact science: air fryer baskets, wattage and fan strength vary by model, and food density changes how fast heat gets in. Check the food a few minutes before the estimated time the first time you try it. This tool doesn't convert recipe measurements — for cups, grams and ingredient-aware baking math, see this site's cooking measurement converter; for plain °F/°C math beyond cooking, see the temperature converter.

This page opens the air fryer converter with chicken wings preselected in the food lookup — a direct setting, not a conversion from an oven recipe. Wings are commonly air fried at about 380°F (193°C) for roughly 20-25 minutes, flipped halfway through so both sides crisp evenly.

This is one of the clearest wins for an air fryer over a conventional oven: the fast-moving hot air renders fat out of the skin and crisps it on all sides without a deep-fryer's oil, getting closer to fried-wing texture in less time than a 400°F oven typically needs for the same result.

As with any air fryer food, the exact time depends on wing size and how many you're cooking at once — a single crowded layer takes longer than wings spread with a little space between them. Whatever the timer says, chicken (including wings) needs 165°F (74°C) internally to be safe; a probe thermometer is the only way to be sure, especially near the bone.
