The zero-width space is the most widely supported invisible character in Unicode. It was designed to mark word-break opportunities in scripts written without spaces, which is why nearly every platform accepts it: it survives in WhatsApp and Telegram messages, Instagram bios and captions, Discord nicknames, and lets you send a message that looks completely empty. Because it is genuinely zero-width, it also works as an invisible separator inside a word without changing how the word looks.

One caveat: some strict username fields (and a few games) strip zero-width characters on save. If U+200B gets filtered, try the Hangul Filler (U+3164) or the Braille blank (U+2800) from the related pages — they are visible-width blanks that pass through filters far more often.
