Children's sizing is the trickiest corner of the shoe world: US kids' sizes run through child sizes 10C–13.5C and then restart as youth sizes 1Y–6Y, UK numbers sit one size lower, and EU continues its single Paris-point scale from 27 to 38. Because kids' feet grow roughly half a size every few months, measuring the foot in cm and converting from that is far more reliable than converting a possibly outgrown labelled size — and, as with adult shoes, brands still vary by up to half a size, which the tool states with every result.
