This page opens the speaker test focused on the low end: press the bass sweep button and a sine tone glides from 20 Hz up to 200 Hz over eight seconds through both channels.
Listen for the moment the sound becomes audible — that is roughly the lower limit of your system. Small desktop speakers typically join in somewhere between 80 and 120 Hz, decent bookshelf speakers around 50–60 Hz, and only subwoofers reach meaningfully below 40 Hz. A sweep also makes rattling grilles, buzzing panels and resonating furniture easy to locate.
Keep the volume moderate: pushing small speakers hard at frequencies they cannot reproduce only produces distortion. The sweep is synthesized locally in your browser — when you are done, the full test also offers per-channel tones and pink noise.
