Capitalizing Every Single Word is not title case — real publications follow style guides that lowercase the small words. This tool applies the actual rules of the four major guides: enter a headline, pick AP, APA, Chicago or MLA, and get the correctly capitalized title, with all four versions shown side by side so you can compare what each guide changes.
The rules the tool implements are the ones editors check: the first and last words are always capitalized; articles (a, an, the) and the seven coordinating conjunctions (and, but, or, nor, for, so, yet) are lowercased; prepositions follow each guide — AP lowercases only those shorter than four letters, APA capitalizes any word of four letters or more, while Chicago and MLA lowercase prepositions regardless of length. Both parts of hyphenated compounds are capitalized, and the first word after a colon always gets a capital.
That is what separates this tool from the simple Title Case mode in our Case Converter, which capitalizes every word — fine for quick labels, wrong for a manuscript or a headline. Here "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" becomes "The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog" in AP, but "…Jumps over the…" in Chicago and MLA, because they lowercase every preposition including over.
