About this tool
This page opens the tone generator already set to 440 Hz — choose a waveform and duration, generate the tone, then play it or download the WAV. 440 Hz is the modern concert pitch: the A4 that orchestras and tuners worldwide reference.
Pure tones are handy for testing speakers and headphones, tuning instruments by ear, audio experiments and relaxation sessions. Start at a low volume — a sustained pure tone can be harsh when loud.
Need a different pitch? Open the full generator and dial in any frequency from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded or stored.
Example. A 440 Hz sine at the default 3 seconds renders a mono 44.1 kHz WAV named sine-440hz.wav. The same path at 963 Hz names the file sine-963hz.wav.
Limit. Frequency is clamped to 20 Hz through 20000 Hz and duration to 0.1 through 60 seconds. The render is one finite file, not a tone that keeps sounding until you press stop.
