Favicon 16x16 Generator

This page opens the favicon generator preset to the 16×16 pixel size — the original favicon dimension that browsers have shown in tabs, bookmarks and address bars since the late 1990s. Drop in a logo or any square-ish image and you get a clean favicon-16x16.png plus the matching link tag.

16×16 is brutally small: only 256 pixels to work with. Fine detail, thin lines and text almost always turn to mush at this size, so simple shapes and strong contrast win. The generator center-crops your image to a square and downscales it with high-quality smoothing, which preserves as much clarity as those 256 pixels allow — but if the preview looks muddy, consider a simplified version of your logo.
