A game ignores your button presses, the camera slowly pans on its own, or a freshly bought second-hand pad feels suspicious? This gamepad tester shows exactly what your computer receives from the controller — every button, trigger and stick, live in your browser.
Connect the controller and press any button on it: browsers deliberately hide gamepads until they get real input, so the page starts in a waiting state. From then on the tester polls the Gamepad API on every frame: the buttons grid lights up as you press, analog triggers show their fractional values while you pull them, and both sticks move a crosshair inside a circle next to the raw axis numbers. If several controllers are connected, a picker lets you switch between them.
For stick drift there is a dedicated mode: switch on the deadzone circle, let go of both sticks and read the idle offset. A healthy stick settles very close to zero; one that rests outside the 10% ring keeps steering by itself in games. Keep in mind that individual games apply their own deadzones, so the number here tells you what the hardware reports, not how every title will react.
The vibration button plays a one-second dual-rumble effect where the browser and controller support it — and says so honestly when they do not. Everything runs locally through the standard Gamepad API: no drivers, no install, nothing leaves your device, and it works the same on Windows, macOS and Linux.
