Mouse Tester

Files keep opening when you meant to select them, drag and drop releases mid-way, or the browser jumps back a page on its own? Those are classic symptoms of a worn mouse switch, and this tester shows exactly what your mouse sends: click inside the test area and every button lights up on the mouse graphic with its own press counter.

The double-click detector is the heart of the tool. Every time you click, it logs the interval since the previous click of the same button. A deliberate double-click lands around 150–500 ms; a healthy single click produces no short intervals at all. When the log shows gaps under 80 ms that you never intended, the switch is bouncing — the hardware fault behind a mouse that double-clicks by itself — and the entry is flagged so you cannot miss it.

The scroll test counts wheel steps up and down separately: spin the wheel slowly one notch at a time and compare the counters with what your finger did. A wheel that skips notches, counts backwards mid-scroll or registers nothing has a dirty or worn encoder. Side buttons (back and forward) are covered too — browser navigation is suppressed inside the test area so you can hammer them safely.
