A PDF is easy to read but awkward to reuse: you cannot always select its text cleanly, and copying page after page by hand is tedious. This tool extracts the plain text from a PDF's text layer in one pass, entirely inside your browser, and hands it back ready to copy or download — no upload, no account, no watermark.

The extraction works page by page. Each page's text is pulled from the document's own text layer and separated by a clear "Page N" marker, so a fifty-page report stays organised instead of collapsing into one undifferentiated wall of words. The result lands in a text box you can read, select, copy to the clipboard, or save as a .txt file that opens anywhere.

Honesty matters here: many PDFs are scans — photographs of paper with no text layer at all. When that happens, no amount of extraction will find words, so instead of returning a silently empty file, the tool detects the empty result and tells you the document is a scan, pointing you to the Image to Text (OCR) tool that can actually read pixels. This is a text extractor, not an OCR engine, and it does not pretend to convert a PDF into an editable Word document.

Because the whole process runs on your own machine through the pdf.js engine, confidential contracts, statements and records never leave the device — there are no page limits and no server round-trip. If you need the pages as pictures rather than text, the PDF-to-JPG tool renders each page to an image instead.
