This page opens the PDF-to-text tool ready to pull the plain text out of a document. Drop a PDF and the tool reads its text layer page by page, labels each block with a "Page N" marker, and shows the whole result in a box you can copy or download as a .txt file.

Extracting text is the quickest way to reuse the words in a PDF: quoting a clause from a contract, moving a report's body into an editor, feeding content into a translator, or searching a long document for a phrase. Because the text comes from the PDF's own text layer, it is exact — no OCR guesswork, no misread characters.

Everything runs locally in your browser through the pdf.js engine, so confidential documents never leave your device. If the PDF is a scan with no text layer, the tool tells you plainly and points you to OCR rather than returning an empty file.
