Body Mass Index is the quickest widely used screening number for weight status: weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. This calculator does the math instantly in both unit systems — centimeters and kilograms, or feet, inches and pounds — and interprets the result on the official WHO scale, from underweight (below 18.5) through the normal range (18.5–24.9) and overweight (25–29.9) to obesity classes I, II and III.

Instead of a bare number you get context: a color-coded scale shows exactly where your BMI sits relative to each threshold, and the tool computes the healthy weight range for your specific height — the corridor of weights that would put you between BMI 18.5 and 24.9. That range is often more actionable than the index itself when you are setting a goal.

The calculator runs entirely in your browser: your height and weight are never sent to a server, stored or shared. There is no registration, no e-mail capture and no ads pretending to be results — type two numbers, read the answer.

Keep in mind that BMI is a population-level screening measure, not a diagnosis. It cannot distinguish muscle from fat and does not account for age, sex, or body composition — athletes often score 'overweight' while carrying little fat. Use the result as a starting point for a conversation with a healthcare professional, not as a verdict.
