Enter the level you have, the level you want, and any runes already in hand. Both levels are clamped to 1 through 713. If the target is below the current level, it is raised to match. The cost to leave a level is a table for levels 1 through 11: 673, 689, 706, 723, 740, 757, 775, 793, 811, 830, and 849. From level 12 up, the cost to leave level L is the floor of 0.02 L³ + 3.06 L² + 105.6 L − 895. The page sums those costs from the current level up to, but not including, the target, then subtracts the runes you already hold. The result is never negative.
Leaving level 1 costs 673 runes, so level 1 to level 2 with an empty purse is 673. The same sum from level 1 to level 40 is 132,057. From level 1 to level 125, the level many players treat as the duel meta, it is 3,886,551. From level 150 to level 200 it is 10,989,926. Those are the totals this formula produces. A patch that changed a vendor price would not change them, because the numbers are computed here, not read from the game.
The farming rows divide the remaining runes by a stored yield and round up. The Mohgwyn albinauric wave uses 40,000, the ledge bird uses 11,000, Greyoll uses 74,000, and each Stormhill troll uses 1,000. The short notes under those rows describe the spots. The counts use the four integers above, not a second yield hidden in the note. Held runes are subtracted before that division.
Example. Going from level 1 to level 2 with no runes already held requires 673 runes. Reaching level 125 from level 1 costs 3,886,551 runes.
