This page opens the fuel cost calculator with consumption preset to liters per 100 kilometers — the convention used across Europe and most of the world, and the one printed in your car's spec sheet. Enter the trip distance in kilometers, your car's real-world figure (typically 5–8 L/100 km for compact cars, 8–12 for SUVs) and the price per liter.

The math is direct: liters needed = distance × consumption ÷ 100, and cost = liters × price. A 450 km trip in a car that burns 7 L/100 km needs 31.5 liters; at 1.80 per liter that is about 56.70 in your currency. Add passengers and the calculator divides the total, which is the fastest fair way to settle a shared ride.

Note that L/100 km works opposite to MPG and km/L: a lower number is better. Real consumption also drifts with speed, load and season — highway figures are usually 10–20% below city ones — so for planning use your on-board computer's long-term average rather than the brochure value. Everything is calculated locally in your browser.
