About this tool
This page opens the encoder with URL mode already selected — paste your text or link and every unsafe character is converted to its percent-encoded form as you type.
URL encoding (percent-encoding) replaces spaces, non-ASCII letters and reserved symbols with %XX sequences so a value can travel safely inside a link, query parameter or redirect.
The full tool also decodes URLs and escapes or unescapes HTML entities — everything runs locally in your browser, so your links and tokens stay private.
Example. URL encode turns a b into a%20b. HTML encode turns a<b> into a<b> and a/b into a/b. A broken percent escape in URL decode is written as Error: plus the decoder message.
Limit. URL encode is encodeURIComponent of the whole box, not encodeURI. HTML encode only maps & < > " ' and /. The parameter grid is shown only while encoding a URL that has a query.
