Paint Calculator for One Room

This page opens the paint calculator in room mode: enter the room's length, width and ceiling height, and it computes the wall area as perimeter × height — the same measurement you would take with a tape measure, done for you. Doors and windows are then subtracted at standard sizes (1.9 m² per door, 1.4 m² per window), because nobody paints over the glass.

A worked example: a 4 × 5 m room with 2.7 m ceilings has 2 × (4 + 5) × 2.7 = 48.6 m² of wall. Take off one door and two windows and 43.9 m² remain; at two coats and a typical coverage of 11 m² per liter that is about 8 liters of paint — say a 5 L can plus three 1 L cans, or one 10 L can with a comfortable reserve.

Two practical notes: this preset covers the walls only — calculate the ceiling separately (there is a dedicated ceiling page for that), and buy roughly 10% extra for touch-ups and future repairs, since color batches vary between production runs. Strong color changes or fresh plaster may need a third coat, which you can set directly in the coats field. Everything is calculated locally in your browser.
