This page opens the timer already set to the original Pomodoro Technique split: 25 minutes of focused work, a 5-minute short break, and a 15-minute long break after every fourth session. Francesco Cirillo picked 25 minutes deliberately — short enough that starting never feels daunting, long enough to get meaningfully into a task before the timer forces a pause.

The 5-minute short break is intentionally brief: just enough to stand up, stretch or refill a glass of water without losing the thread of what you were doing. The 15-minute long break, arriving after four rounds, is where the real recovery happens — long enough to step away from the screen entirely before the next block of four begins.

This 25/5/15 rhythm is the one most people mean when they say 'Pomodoro' and the best starting point if you have never timed your focus before. Press Start and the timer cycles through work, short breaks and long breaks on its own, with a soft beep on every change and a live countdown in the browser tab title.
