This page opens the dead pixel test directly on a solid red panel: press start and the screen fills with pure red. Click or use the arrow keys to cycle onward, and press Esc when you are done.

A red field drives only the red subpixel of every pixel on the panel. A dark dot on red means the red subpixel is dead; a dot shining in the wrong color means a neighboring subpixel is stuck on. Because each pixel is three separate subpixels, a defect can be invisible on white yet obvious here.

Check red together with its green and blue siblings — one keypress away in the cycle — to isolate exactly which channel misbehaves. That distinction matters: a stuck subpixel is a candidate for the flashing fixer, while a dead one is a hardware defect for the warranty conversation.
