Descending uses the same fingers in reverse order. Melodic minor descends in its natural-minor form.
C Melodic minor's right-hand-only chart shows the ascending form, with the raised sixth and seventh (A and B) giving the scale a brighter lift than natural minor, while the single flat, E♭, simply takes the third finger without disturbing the usual thumb-unders at F and at the closing C.
Because melodic minor traditionally reverts to the natural minor form when descending, isolating the right hand on its ascending shape is a good way to lock in this exact pattern before it gets mixed up with the different one used coming back down.
